Welcome to Modelrailxpress.com
Hello my name’s Anthony Allam and I’m the managing editor of modelrailxpress.com
What makes us railway enthusiasts? Many varied experiences is my bet unless it’s hidden away in our genes. An example is given by Nick Pigott, editor of ‘The Railway Magazine’. He writes that his enthusiasm started when he was in his pram and saw a brand new ‘Britannia’ at Diss. I can’t recall what triggered my interest in model railways and wonder if you can recall what prompted yours?
Similarly what makes steam so special. I can’t fathom that out either. Is it the smell of smoke and oil mixed up in the steam? - As a child I used to smell my father’s suit when he came home from London and breathed in that wonderful steam train aroma.
Well, I hope you’re going to find that the end of this particular journey was worth waiting for as I’m announcing today the publication of ‘ModelRailXpress.com’, a monthly online model railway newsletter.
It’s going to take a similar format to the monthly printed magazine titles. However, rather than the usual lead time of many weeks before publication Modelrailxpress.com will bring you the latest news on a monthly basis and conceivably within hours of a news release!
There will be editorial comment, layout articles, features, product reviews, construction articles, hints and tips, subscribers’ letters, book reviews and trade news. We’ll also cover societies and clubs, events and meetings, and in due course a forum where subscribers can share their views and observations within the community. Future issues will include classified advertising, and a further aim is to have display advertising.
In order for ModelRailXpress.com to become successful we need your input. So, If you’ve got a layout you’d like featured, or you can write an article of interest to other enthusiasts or you can offer product and book reviews let me know. If you can offer tips and hints let me know too. Further, if you’ve built rolling stock, constructed buildings and scenery and would like an article published with photos - just let me know. Send me an email to info@modelrailxpress.com - and please note the spelling of ‘xpress’
There’s exclusivity here. This is not a free newsletter but a paid-for subscription site so distribution is restricted. All the content is exclusive just to you the subscriber. The price for ModelRailXpress.com is extremely competitive costing less than 9 pence per day -(overseas that’s less than 11cents). I want enthusiasts to be able to access the publication without breaking the bank.
Well, now it’s time for action. I have the first issue ready to send you. All you have to do is click on the large button on this page.
